It seems that the apostles were obsessed with the idea of every believer "ABOUNDING" in spiritual life. John wanted believers to abound in fellowship.
Peter wanted grace and peace to be multiplied to the believers so that they would have both in abundance. Paul was equally passionate about those he loved abounding in Christ. Here are some of the ways he expressed this:
"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that you will ABOUND in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." "Now this I pray, that your love may ABOUND more and more in full knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent."
He wrote to the Corinthians -
"And God is able to make ALL GRACE ABOUND toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an ABUNDANCE for every good work."
Do we really believe that God is able to MAKE ALL GRACE ABOUND TO US? - even beyond what we can ask or think, according to His power that is at work within us? Just think, if we are truly being filled with all joy and peace in believing, ABOUNDING in hope, ABOUNDING in love, ABOUNDING in grace to the point that we are ABOUNDING in every good work, WOW!
Men would see this GOOD WORK and glorify our Father who is in heaven. Perhaps we are missing the key ingredient that would make believers ATTRACTIVE to the world by simply not ABOUNDING. Nothing is more ATTRACTIVE to an empty soul than seeing someone ABOUND! When the Lord is our shepherd - HE spreads a feast before us.
