Faith Comes By Hearing...

How does the Holy Spirit take the things of Jesus Christ and make them ours?  Jesus said that "the Spirit will take the things of mine and DECLARE THEM unto you."

Every virtue the Father has was fully given to the Son, and this divine virtue is transmitted to us through the Spirit's COMMUNICATION - "He will take the things of mine and declare them unto you."

This means that we must be able to HEAR what the Spirit is saying if we would receive every virtue of Jesus as our own.

When Jesus was "declaring" the Father to men, He would often say "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."  He warned His disciples to "be very careful HOW YOU HEAR, for with the measure you meet, it will be measured to you."

He explained that everyone who heard carefully would be given more and have an abundance; conversely, the one who did not hear properly, would lose even what he thought he had gained.

The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to DECLARE the life of The Ascended Lord to us - this is why we must learn to hear what the Spirit is saying.

"Let him who has ears to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches."

The Holy  Spirit is declaring the virtues of Jesus to those who are listening carefully.  Beware of those things that will affect our ability to hear the Spirit.

The cares of this life, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desire for other things, all interfere with our hearing what the Spirit is wanting to declare to us.

This is the danger the writer of Hebrews was explaining in chapter 5 - "there is much more to say about the ministry of Jesus , but it is hard explain because you have become DULL OF HEARING."  If we develop a hearing problem, we will miss out what the Spirit is declaring and this will retard our growth and limit our spiritual capacity to understand.

The Spirit wants to declare  to us all  the riches that the Father gave to the Son.  If we do not carefully hear what the Spirit is saying, we will live without the virtues of Jesus that were intended to become ours.  If we are not hearing what the Spirit is declaring, we will remain infants.

Those who hear what the Spirit declares, experience the power of the virtues of Jesus and  become the mature Sons of God.
