The Voice of Mercy

How can we recognize the "way of escape" God always provides for us when we are being tempted - especially with offense or agitation towards another person. 

There is one sure indicator for the way of escape - THE VOICE OF MERCY! 

MERCY triumphs over judgment, whereas offense and aggression towards others is always based upon the momentum of "accusation" fueled by hurt, envy, or jealousy. 

When our own passions are driving our thoughts towards another we are SEEKING OUR OWN. This is what causes fights and quarrels among us - WE WANT but do not get - SO WE BEGIN TO DEMAND of others what we think we must have. 

MERCY is not focused on our own need but THE OTHER PERSON'S NEEDS. 

MERCY does not seek to extract justice from others but looks to give the same grace to them that flows from the heart of Jesus.

 "The power of sin is the law" so do not be deceived by "legally sound" reasoning - THE LETTER KILLS. The way of escape will be the way of the Spirit, not the Law. The way of escape will be a mind of life and peace toward others, full of mercy, pure, and peaceable because it comes from above.

 Satan's favorite tool to accuse is The Law, because it effectively kills and destroys relationships. Jesus is The Way of life, and the Way of Escape is always found in the mercy and grace flowing from His Spirit of life and peace. When tempted - LOOK FOR SIGNS OF MERCY and you'll soon see the way of escape - you'll see what Jesus would do if it were you
