We find true freedom from sin through our fellowship with Christ Jesus. When we begin to rejoice in the presence of our Lord walking with us, we lose consciousness of sin due to the peace and rest we experience through His presence. From this place of tranquil communion, we can best recognize temptation's subtle intent - the scheme to draw us away from our sweet fellowship with Him.
This is the secret inner strength of those who are led by the Spirit. Temptation is at its strongest pull when our fellowship with Christ is at its weakest momentum. The old song writer knew this secret -"temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh." We are not likely to fulfill the lusts of the flesh when we are being filled with all joy and peace through a wonderful communion with Jesus.
Godliness with contentment allows us to see temptation as it is - "bait" and "lure" to draw us away from the secure place of His presence. Being filled with His Spirit and walking in uninterrupted communion with Jesus is the most secure place to live free from sin.
When we are so full of life from our fellowship with Jesus, we leave little room for sin to ensnare us by it's deceitful promise of temporary pleasure. Real freedom from sin will be experienced in the joy of our fellowship with Jesus! Sin never taste so sour as when it interrupts the sweetness our communion with Christ! The more satisfied we are in Jesus, the less susceptible we are to sin.
