THEN we will be able to prove what God's will is -HIS good, pleasing, and perfect will.
Only a RE-newed mind can prove
whether our perception is really accurate or not.
When Jacob's faith was at a very low ebb, things sure did not seem good, pleasing, and definitely not perfect! From his NON-renewed perspective and unbelieving heart came blame towards his sons and despair about his circumstances.
Was his perception accurate? NO! Joseph was NOT dead, things were NOT getting worse, and everything was actually falling into place - perfectly.
We are too often like Jacob. Only a RE-newed mind will enable us to see that the very painful and difficult situation we are in is being used by God to do a GOOD work in us. We are usually slow to be grateful for suffering!
A RE-newed mind will lift us out of our self-"pit" - y and open our eyes to see that God's wisdom directs Him to do what is PLEASING to Him rather than what we think would please us.
Then, from a RE-newed mind, the fog of our confusion and discouragement will begin to dissipate and we'll be able to see that His ways are perfect, His timing is perfect, and His heart towards us is perfect.
It really is a matter of perspective - Jacob threw up his hands and declared "everything is against me!" That's how it seemed to him - but his mind was un-renewed - God was fulfilling HIS own will - and it was GOOD, PLEASING and PERFECT!
