Self-Seeking or Self Giving?

The "world" and the "Father" are so different in essence that John wrote - "if anyone loves the world or the things of the world, the love of the Father is not in Him". 


John explains "all that is in the world"...Is not from the Father. The world's problem with corruption is caused by the root of sinful "self-seeking." 


The lusts of the eyes, the lusts of the flesh, and the pride of life are not from the PURE SELF-GIVING essence of the Father. Those carnal lusts are the result of the INDWELLING SIN that enslaves men to SELF-FULFILLING passions. 


Being set free from sin's domination liberates us from a life of SELF-SERVING SLAVERY. 


The liberty we have been called to is a new life of serving others in love. This is accomplished by the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. The divine nature of God's own love is shed abroad in our heart to will and to do of His good pleasure. 


Those who receive the abundance of grace to live this new life are freed from slavery to self-interests and are empowered to live in the Lord's own essence of giving. 


True spiritual life wells up within us as we give ouselves to serve others - the more we give - the more we are given. The secret that too few find is - "GIVE and it shall BE GIVEN to you, a measure pressed down, shaken, running over."
